First Winners for Changeintheweather and Flatter

Canadian grade I winner Changeintheweather and U.S. grade II stakes-placed Flatter   were represented by their first winners. Changeintheweather's son Cold Trial won July 3 at 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:06 at River Downs in his second start. The Ohio-bred colt races as a homebred for trainer Timothy Hamm's Blazing Meadows Farm. Cold Trial is the second winner from the Honour and Glory mare Misleadthewitness.

Flatter's daughter Bold Child won July 4 at five furlongs in :57.75 for Zarba Hills Stables at Monmouth Park at first asking. Bred in Pennsylvania by G & R Stables, she is the first foal from the winning Housebuster mare Protect the Child.

Flatter (A.P. Indy--Praise, by Mr. Prospector) stands for $5,000 at the Hancock family's Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky. Changeintheweather (Gone West--Meteor Colony, by Pleasant Colony) stands for $3,500 at Ron and Barbara Rickline's Xanthus Farms near Gettysburg, Pa.
