A North American record Pick Six pool of $10,870,752.48 was generated Monday at Hollywood Park as a record four-day carryover of $3,274,505.48 produced a single-day record Pick Six handle of $7,596,347.12.

After takeout, a single winning ticket would have been worth a record $7.4 million, but unlike previous days, the races ran truer to form with 13 winning tickets each worth $576,064.40. Consolation tickets with five winners each were worth $2,240.40.

All horses but 40-1 shot Uncle Bucky were covered entering the eighth and final race, which was won by 18-1 shot Extreme Notice ($39) by a head over Oh Shine. Uncle Bucky finished last in the field of 14.

The previous record Pick Six pool of $7,303,848 was set on March 3, 2004, at Santa Anita Park when a three-day carryover of $1,413,136.14 generated an additional Pick Six handle of $5,889,712.

Monday’s Pick Six wager of $7,596,347.12 beat the single-day North American record of $6,494,193 set when there was a $5-million guarantee on Breeders’ Cup Day in 1998 at Churchill Downs.

Other winners in the Pick Six races: Skipaslew ($4.20), Pressthepace ($11.20), Outlaw Jones ($13.80), Lt. Lorraine ($6.80) and Desire To Excel ($13.20).
