Nijoom Dubai, who had yet to break her maiden, posted a 50-1 shock when winning the Albany Stakes (Eng-III) for 2-year-old fillies at Royal Ascot on Friday.

You’resothrilling, the full sister to champion Giant’s Causeway, was sent off the heavy favorite to capture her second consecutive stakes.  The bay filly had an eventful race, however, and could do no better than second. The Aidan O’Brien trainee hopped coming out of the starting gate, then had to be checked twice when encountering traffic coming down the home stretch.

By the time Mick Kinane found clear running room for You’resothrilling, it was too late.  Jamie Spencer had the Mick Channon-trained Nijoom Dubai in the clear and on the lead.  You’resothrilling could get no closer than 1 1 1/4-lengths to the winner.

Baffled, a daughter of Distorted Humor   finished third, two lengths further back.

Nijoom Dubai is a bay filly by Noverre out of Aileen’s Gift, by Rainbow Quest.  She was bred in England by Bloodhorse International.
