Jump Start Filly Kicks Off OBSC Sale
(Edited press release) Browning, a filly by Jump Start consigned by Shadybrook Farm, Inc. (Michael Yates), Agent, whose quarter in :21 flat was the sale’s fastest at the distance, went to R.E. Wilson, Agent for Thomasina Caporella, for $190,000 to top the opening session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2007 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age. Out of stakes placed Chandelier, by Majestic Light, the dark bay or brown filly is a half sister to graded stakes winner Queen of Money. For the session, 155 horses sold for a total of $3,135,300, compared with 117 horses bringing $2,710,400 at last year’s opening session. The average price was $20,228, compared with $23,166 in 2006, while the median price was $12,000 compared with $14,000 last year. The buyback percentage was 35.9%; it was 35% in last year’s first session. Fourteen horses sold for $50,000 or more compared with eight last year. The sale concludes Wednesday.
