(Edited press release)
“NTRA Summer Racing – Powered by Dodge,” seven shows featuring 16 races, will air on the ESPN networks beginning June 30, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association announced June 13.
The series will offer coverage from Hollywood Park, Belmont Park, Del Mar, Saratoga, Delaware Park and Mountaineer Park in the United States, and from The Curragh, in Ireland. Nine of the 16 races are either grade I or group I contests.
“As the weather heats up across the country, so does the racing calendar, and we are excited to bring racing fans many of the best events of the summer,” said Alex Waldrop, president and CEO of the NTRA.
Among the premier summer events to be shown are the Hollywood Gold Cup (gr. I), Suburban Handicap (gr. I), American Oaks Invitational (gr. IT), Budweiser Irish Derby (Ire-I), and Travers Stakes (gr. I).
