(edited press release)

Nationally-renowned equine artist Robert Clark will be painting live at the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs on Saturday, June 16, as he works on a portrait of 2007 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense for the second annual Horsemen's Education Benefit. The piece he completes will be a live auction item at the event to be held later that day, and all net proceeds from the sale of the Street Sense painting will go to the Klein Family Learning Center and the Race For Education Scholarship program.

On June 19, Robert will be painting live at the 4th Annual KW Charity Golf Outing Dinner and Auction to be held at the River Crest Golf Club and Preserve in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. The piece he will be painting there will include the three recent superstars from the Philadelphia area: Smarty Jones  , Afleet Alex, and Barbaro. Proceeds from this live auction event go to support Alex's Lemonade Stand, which raises funds to fight childhood cancer. Clark has created small original oil paintings live at numerous events in the past year, with his works bringing in over $20,000 for Thoroughbred-related charities including the Barbaro Fund, Old Friends, Thoroughbred Charities of America, NTWA Scholarships, and many others. Clark, along with his easel and palette, is a regular presence at Keeneland, Fasig-Tipton, and Ocala sales throughout the year. He sees painting for charity as an opportunity to use his exceptional talent to give back to the industry that has so graciously embraced him and granted him a thriving career.

"It is my pleasure and my privilege to be able to contribute to the people and horses in this great Thoroughbred industry," Clark said. "I look forward to continuing to do so as long as positive work can be accomplished for the common good."
