Terry Turner, who was both a jockey and trainer, died May 16 in Canon City, Colo. He was 54.
Born into racing family, Turner rode professionally from 1969 through 1976 in Canada before switching to training and serving as an assistant to Midwest conditioner Glenn Hild. Turner later settled in Georgetown, Ky., where he operated a small public stable and a lay-up and rehab center. His survivors include his wife, Miriam.
