Graded stakes contender Like Now, winner of the 2006 Gotham Stakes (gr. III), will return to the track June 9 in a six-furlong allowance optional claimer at Delaware Park. The bay gelding has not raced since May 20, 2006 when he finished seventh in the Preakness Stakes (gr. I).

“He had a chip taken out of his knee, and he’s been training forwardly for quite some time, since March,” said Kiaran McLaughlin, who conditioned the colt through his 2- and 3-year-old campaigns. “We had trouble getting a race to fill for him, so it’s good to find a spot to bring him back. He wants to go further than six furlongs, but we’re gonna ease him into it.”

Like Now, a 4-year-old son of Jules out of the Pine Bluff mare Can’t Bluff Me, has won four of nine career starts to bring in earnings of $278,932 for owner John J. Dillon.
