The president of the Saratoga Convention and Visitors Bureau will resign from the post June 29 to take the job of senior vice president of sales and market development for the New York Racing Association.
Gavin Landry, who has been with the Saratoga Springs, N.Y., entity for 12 years, will begin working for NYRA several weeks before the start of the Saratoga race meet. According to published reports in New York, he is taking a new position at NYRA, which is attempting to gets its franchise to operate Aqueduct, Belmont Park, and Saratoga extended beyond Dec. 31.
Landry, who has a background in horse ownership, said he would focus on customer service. He is expected to take on some of the responsibilities of Bill Nader, who resigned as chief operating officer to take a job with the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
