Slew's Tizzy will ship to New York to prepare for Belmont.

Slew’s Tizzy, getting good at the right time, will join the Triple Crown fray in the Belmont Stakes (gr. I) for Kentucky-based trainer Greg Fox.
The 139th running of the $1 million Belmont Stakes (gr. I) at 1 1/2 miles, will be run on June 9.
In only three weeks, Slew’s Tizzy has scored a pair of graded stakes wins in Keeneland’s Coolmore Lexington (gr. II) and the Lone Star Derby (gr. III), which makes him a live challenger in the Belmont. By Tiznow – who won his second Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) at Belmont Park in 2001 – Slew’s Tizzy began the season as a 29-1 maiden at Turfway Park.
“Everything is falling into place,” said Fox, who trains the colt for owner/breeder Joseph Lacombe, a Brooklyn native. “Right now, the plan is to work Saturday.”
Fox owns a farm adjacent to The Thoroughbred Center, which is located in Lexington, Ky., and is owned by the Keeneland Association.
“My horses walk down a little hill and they are on the training track,” said Fox, 45. “It’s very quite and peaceful. I believe the horses thrive in that kind of environment.”
Slew’s Tizzy is going to need a jockey for the Belmont Stakes. Robby Albarado, who rode Slew’s Tizzy in the Lexington and Lone Star Derby, would pilot Preakness (gr. I) champion Curlin in the Belmont.
“We’ve got a few guys in mind,” Fox said. “We hate to lose Robby, but there are a lot of talented riders out there. We’re working out the details.”
Fox said that he intends to ship Slew’s Tizzy to New York the week of the Belmont.
