Blood-Horse Auction Raises $6,500 for March of Dimes

The annual silent auction and Kentucky Derby party at Blood-Horse Publications May 3 raised more than $6,500 for the March of Dimes.

Blood-Horse Publications has been the top fundraiser in Lexington, Ky., for the March of Dimes for at least the past five years. The silent auction held every Derby week is one of many March of Dimes fundraising activities sponsored by the company, which held raffles, pot lucks, and ice cream socials earlier this year.

Blood-Horse Publications also collects clothing, canned goods, and toys each year for various industry charities.

“Our employees are strong believers in giving back to the industry and the community,” said Robert Bolson, marketing director of Blood-Horse Publications. “The company is guided by a strong sense of service and lending a hand.”

The Blood-Horse Charitable Foundation was established in 1988 to provide financial assistance to equine-related causes around the country.

Blood-Horse Publications received the Republic Bank “We CARE Award” in the medium-size business category at the first awards ceremony held last year at The Red Mile in Lexington. The award recognizes companies and employees in Frankfort, Georgetown, and Lexington that demonstrate inspiring examples of community service and support.
