HorseRacing TV announced May 14 that Lane’s End Farm will be the presenting sponsor of its comprehensive live coverage of Preakness Week May 17-19 from Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Md.
In addition to the Preakness Stakes (gr. I), Pimlico’s eight other graded stakes that will be shown live or on tape May 18 and 19 include three grade II events: the Black-Eyed Susan, the Dixie, and the Allaire Dupont Breeders’ Cup Distaff.
Lane's End is owned by William S. Farish and encompasses more than 2,000 acres near Versailles, Ky. Farish also operates the 300-acre Lane's End Texas near Hempstead, an hour from Houston. Among the top sires currently standing at Lane’s End are A.P. Indy, Kingmambo, and Smart Strike, as well as such young stallions as Mineshaft, Rock Hard Ten, Pleasantly Perfect, and Aragorn.
“The Preakness annually attracts casual and dedicated racing fans alike,” said Farish. “We are pleased to be working with HRTV to support the wire-to-wire coverage of Preakness Week, which helps provide exposure for one of our sport’s most significant events.”
“In a sport filled with larger-than-life names, Lane’s End is among the most notable,” said Jim Bates, executive vice president and general manager of HRTV. “Their support of our Preakness Week coverage continues the farm’s commitment to working with other entities in Thoroughbred racing to build and maintain a healthy fan base for the sport.”
