Several Thoroughbred industry Web sites offering video race replays got their footage from Magna Entertainment-owned tracks restored Thursday because a new agreement was reached between TrackNet Media and Post Time Technologies. Magna race replays are available again at bloodhorse.com and on the National Thoroughbred Racing Association’s Web site.
TrackNet Media is a new joint venture between Magna and Churchill Downs Inc. that was formed to broaden the distribution of horse racing signals through a wide variety of wagering outlets and platforms, including the advanced deposit wagering companies, like Youbet.com and AmericaTab. Because TrackNet is a new legal entity, Post Time Technologies was notified nearly two weeks ago that a new contract would be required. Distribution of the Magna races was temporarily stopped while Post Time Technologies, a British Columbia-based company, negotiated a new deal.
"We appreciate MEC and TrackNet Media's cooperation in working with us to execute this agreement promptly, in order to allow our affiliate partners immediate access to MEC content in time for the upcoming Triple Crown series," said Hardave Gill, president and chief executive officer of Post Time Technologies in a statement issued Thursday afternoon.
