Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) winner Captain Steve worked five furlongs in 1:02 4/5 at Churchill Downs on Wednesday, with trainer Bob Baffert saying he does not know when the horse will make his next start.

"It was an easy work because he hadn't worked in a while," Baffert said. "The good thing is that he wasn't pissed off." Noting that he has no plan for Captain Steve, Baffert added, "If you have a plan in this business you only ruin your horse. The only plan I have is the Kentucky Derby (with Point Given and Congaree)."

Owner Mike Pegram observed the work before returning to Seattle Wednesday night.

When Baffert took Captain Steve out of consideration for the Pimlico Special, he said Churchill's Stephen Foster (gr. II) on June 16 or the Hollywood Gold Cup (gr. I) on July 1 were options being explored.
