Darley's two gun stallions in Australia, Elusive Quality  and Bernardini, have earned spots in the limelight following the announcement of their respective Southern Hemisphere service fees. Both currently are standing at Darley at Jonabell.

Elusive Quality (Gone West--Touch of Greatness, by Hero's Honor), already the sire of an Australian juvenile group I winner from his debut crop, will stand at a fee of Aus$137,500 (about $114,500 in U.S. funds)--the third highest in Australia behind Arrowfield's Redoute's Choice($330,000) and Coolmore's Encosta de Lago, whose fee will be announced later this week and is believed to be $220,000.

Bernardini (A.P. Indy--Cara Rafaela, by Quiet American), perhaps the best 3-year-old on the planet while racing last year, will commence his down under life in the barn at a fee of $82,500 (about $68,800), which is the highest debut fee set this year. Darley will be standing 23 stallions in Australia in 2007.

Joining Bernardini as first-season Darley stallions is grade I winner Henny Hughes(Hennessy--Meadow Flyer, by Meadowlake) at ($27,500 inc. GST). Henny Hughes' current fee at Darley's Lexington nursery is $40,000.

Announcing Darley’s fees, general manager Oliver Tait said, “We’re absolutely thrilled with Elusive Quality’s success with his first crop of 2-year-olds, and we’re particularly excited to offer breeders the opportunity to send their mares to a stallion of Bernardini’s caliber. We’ve priced them to reflect their merits, and they’re proving to be extremely popular.”

Darley will again be offering its brilliant inducement for mare owners--send your mare to a Darley stallion and Darley will pay the shipping costs to and from the farm, no matter where in Australia your mare is coming from.

"Our stallions' fees, payment terms, and transport concessions--well-known to our clients as the Darley deal--will continue to make breeding to the Darley stallions as affordable and profitable as possible,” Tait added.
