Grade I winner Sutra is the 123-pound highweight for Thursday’s $250,000 Stonerside Beaumont (gr. II) at Keeneland, a race for 3-year-old fillies at about seven furlongs. The daughter of Meadowlake, who races for Janice and Robert McNair’s Stonerside Stable and Jack Hodge Jr.’s Oakcrest Farm, won the Frizette Stakes (gr. I) last year and was ninth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I). Trained by Mike Stidham, Sutra opened her 2007 campaign with a second in a six-furlong allowance/optional claiming race at Oaklawn Park on March 2.
Carrying 121 pounds is Forever Together, a daughter of Belong to Me who has established her talents as a sprinter with three wins in three starts. Trained by Jonathan Sheppard for George Strawbridge Jr.’s Augustin Stable, Forever Together won her lone race last year. In February in Florida, she captured the six-furlong Ocala Breeders’ Sale Sprint and in March took Gulfstream Park’s seven-furlong Forward Gal (gr. II).
