Argentine-bred Contante, whose sire Interprete is the broodmare sire of Horse of the Year Invasor, will stand at Dr. Mark Kranz' Stonefield Farm near Clymer, N.Y.
Contante, who is a full brother to two stakes winners, was a group I winner in Argentina, plus twice graded stakes-placed in the U.S. for Cobra Farm and Castletop Stable. He was beaten a neck in a runner-up effort in the 2006 Gulfstream Park Handicap (gr. II) and ran third in the 2005 Hal's Hope Handicap (gr. III).
Contante is out the Cipayo mare Consociada. For now, Kranz is concentrating on breeding Contante to his own mares.
