TVG Ramps Up Coverage of Keeneland Spring Meet

TVG will air a record number of live broadcasts from Keeneland when the Lexington racetrack’s meet begins April 6, and also add features designed to take views closer to the action.
Opening-week coverage will begin April 5 at 7 p.m. Eastern time with a special edition of “Racing Roundtable” hosted from the Keeneland Library. On April 6, TVG’s Matt Carothers will host “Blinkers Off” (11:30 a.m.) and “:58 Flat” (3 p.m.) trackside for the first time.
Daily start-to-finish race coverage will include on-site commentary from TVG’s stable of commentators.
“The Works: Toyota Blue Grass Stakes 2007” (April 13 at 6 p.m.) will provide an in-depth look into this year’s Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I). Host Todd Schrupp, along with analysts Frank Lyons and Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens, will bring viewers insight into what is shaping up as one of the deepest fields in Blue Grass Stakes history.
“Horseracing All Access” (April 20-21) will include a grade I steeplechase race for the first time. “All Access” offers an insider’s perspective on racing, as wireless microphones are attached to jockeys, trainers, owners, and racing officials.
TVG’s Keeneland coverage will also incorporate “Trakus,” technology that allows viewers to see isolated replays of any given race from a computer-generated viewpoint of horse and rider.
