Jockey Danny Sorenson underwent surgery at Centinela Hospital in Inglewood Sunday morning for a broken right hip suffered in a training mishap at Hollywood Park March 24.

Sorenson was working Tumbaga, who is trained by Cliff Sise Jr., when he was injured.

“We don’t know how much time he’ll miss at this point,” said Sorenson’s agent, Brandon O’Bryan.

Going into the weekend's action at Santa Anita, Sorenson had won with nine of 95 mounts.
