Fateful Dream Rallies for Inglewood Win

Edmund A. Gann's Fateful Dream raced in last place behind moderate fractions before rallying in the stretch to win the $107,100 Inglewood Handicap (gr. IIIT) by a length over National Anthem on Saturday at Hollywood Park. Under David Flores, Fateful Dream completed the 1 1/16 miles in 1:41.65 on a firm turf course.
Casino King finished a nose behind National Anthem. Falcon Flight was fourth, followed by 15-10 favorite Sarafan.
Fateful Dream paid $12.20, $5.20, and $3.40. National Anthem returned $3.40 and $3. Casino King was worth $4 to show. The $1 exacta returned $22.40.
The win was the first for Fateful Dream since the Bobby Frankel trainee won the listed Sir Beaufort Stakes on opening day of the Santa Anita Winter Meet and his fifth victory from nine career starts. After his first stakes win in the Dec. 26 Sir Beaufort, he finished fourth in the Fair Grounds Breeders' Cup Handicap and eighth in the Frank E. Kilroe Mile Handicap (gr. IIT).
