Graded Winner Toll Taker Retired

Toll Taker, a graded stakes winner, has been retired from racing and is booked to Street Cry. The 5-year-old daughter of Bernsteinis owned by Patrick Welch's Sea Gull Associates.

Bred in Illinois by Lothenbach Stables, Toll Taker was sold privately to Sea Gull prior to her racing career. As a 2-year-old, Toll Taker won three straight races, including the Astarita Stakes (gr. III). Over the next two years, she won three stakes and placed in eight added-money races.

Toll Taker, who is out of the Bet Big mare Tappanzee, retired with six wins from 26 races and earnings of $397,213. She is boarded at Drew Nardiello's Chesapeake Farm near Lexington, where she was raised.
