Rags to Riches Favored in Kentucky Oaks Bet The daughter of A.P. Indystood as the solid 4-1 choice, although betting in the March 8-11 pool closed roughly an hour before she was scheduled to compete in the $300,000 Santa Anita Oaks. Rags to Riches broke from the starting gate in the 1 1/16-mile race as a heavy favorite under jockey Garrett Gomez and cruised to a dominating 5 1/2-length victory. The mutuel field, the betting interest that includes all 3-year-old fillies other than the 23 individual horses in pool 2, closed as the second choice at 7-1. Frank Calabrese's 2006 juvenile filly champion Dreaming of Anna was the 9-1 third choice, and was followed by Fair Grounds Oaks (gr. II) runner-up Octave at 11-1. Wagering on the second of three 2007 Kentucky Oaks Future pools at racetracks and off-track betting outlets throughout the United States and Canada totaled $55,840. The total was the largest in pool 2 since the Oaks Future bet adopted its three-pool format in 2004. The third and final pool of the 2007 Kentucky Oaks Future wager is set for April 12-15. The 133rd running of the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) is scheduled for May 4. Other fillies that enjoyed strong support in KOFW pool 2 included the Phipps Stable's Boca Grande (13-1), the winner of the Demoiselle who turned in a disappointing 2007 debut in Saturday's Forward Gal (gr. II) at Gulfstream Park; the Nick Zito-trained Autobahn Girl (15-1), who is set to run next week in the Florida Oaks; the Doug O'Neill-trained Mistical Plan (18-1), who saw her odds improve following an impressive win in the Fair Grounds Oaks; and Folk, winner of Dubai's UAE Oaks. 2007 KENTUCKY OAKS FUTURE WAGER POOL 2, FINAL FINAL Wagering Total -- $55,840
