Street Sense, Nobiz' Odds Both 6-1 at KDFW Midpoint James Tafel’s reigning 2-year-old champion Street Sense, winner of the Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (gr. I), and Elizabeth Valando’s Nobiz Like Shobiz, winner of the Remsen (gr. II) and the Holy Bull (gr. III), continued to share the role of favorite as pool 2 of Churchill Downs’ Kentucky Derby Future Wager reached its midway point. Street Sense and Nobiz Like Shobiz each closed at odds of 6-1 following Friday’s second day of betting in the Derby Future Wager. Despite his upset loss in last week’s Fountain of Youth (gr. II) at Gulfstream Park, Nobiz Like Shobiz had attracted total betting of $8,313 and was a slight choice over Street Sense, who closed the day with wagering of $8,109. The mutuel field, the betting interest that includes all 3-year-olds other than the 23 individual horses in pool 2, remained the 10-1 third choice. Racing fans at tracks and off-track betting outlets across North America wagered $73,708 during the first two days of pool 2. Betting in the four-day pool will conclude on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET. The KDFW allows racing fans to wager on contenders for the 133rd Kentucky Derby presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) at odds that could be significantly better than those they would receive on the day of the race. The wager is a $2 minimum bet and a win wager only. There are no refunds and winning payouts on Kentucky Derby Day, May 5, will be based on the odds that are in place at the conclusion of each of the three KDFW pools. Other horses drawing support included J. Paul Reddam’s Great Hunter, the Doug O’Neill-trained winner of the Robert B. Lewis (gr. II) who saw his odds drop on Friday from 14-1 to 10-1. Sham (gr. III) winner Ravel also closed the day’s betting at 12-1, joining a parade of Todd Pletcher trainees: Any Given Saturday (12-1), Circular Quay (14-1), and Scat Daddy (14-1). The third and final KDFW pool of 2007 is scheduled for April 12-15. 2007 KENTUCKY DERBY FUTURE WAGER POOL 2, DAY 2 Day 2 Wagering Total: $73,708
