Fillies by Personal Hope and Seattle Sleet were the fastest quarter-mile workers Thursday during the second under tack show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's April sale of 2-year-olds in training. Both stopped the clock in :21 3/5.
Named Just Personal, the Personal Hope filly is consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent. Produced from the 11-year-old unraced Lear Fan mare Ah Love, she is a half-sister to Diamonds and Legs, winner of the 1998 Laura Gal Stakes at Laurel. Just Personal was a $25,000 buy-back at last year's Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling sale.
The Seattle Sleet filly is consigned by M & H Training and Sales, agent. Produced from the 22-year-old stakes-winning Pago Pago mare All My Marys, she is a half-sister to two stakes-placed runners, All My Tricks and Mary Me Boy. The filly was purchased by David McKathan from Paul Tackett, agent, for $15,000 at the 2000 Keeneland September yearling sale.
A Helmsman filly and a Fortunate Prospect colt were the fastest eighth-mile workers, both stopping the clock in :10 2/5.
Named Special Motion, the Helmsman filly is consigned by McKathan Farms, agent. She was produced from the 9-year-old Allen's Prospect mare Communicator Madam, a winner who finished second in the 1995 Bouwerie Stakes at Belmont Park.
The Fortunate Prospect colt is consigned by Southern Chase Farm, agent. Produced from the 23-year-old unraced Riva Ridge mare Bridge Table, he is a half-brother to three stakes-placed runners, Femme Gendarme, L.J.'s Terminator, and Dame d'Harvard. All were winners. Dame d'Harvard finished second in the 1996 Prix du Calvados (Fr-III). The colt was purchased for $27,000 by Southern Chase Farm, agent, from Robert Slack, agent, at the 2000 OBS August yearling sale. The OBS April sale's catalogue lists the colt's name as Bagad de Lanbihoue, but The Jockey Club Information Systems' Equine Line lists his name as Faith and Fortune.
Bold World, a bay daughter of Fortunate Prospect, turned in the fastest three-furlong work, covering the distance in :33 3/5. Consigned by Farnsworth Farms, agent, the filly was produced from the 8-year-old unraced World Appeal mare Worldly Bold, who is a full sister to grade III winner Jolies Appeal.
The OBS April sale will be conducted April 23-26 in Ocala, Fla.
