Kentucky Blacksmith Errol Bradford Dead

Longtime Kentucky farrier Errol Bradford of Rabbit Hash, Ky., died Feb. 20 after a six-month battle with cancer. He was 69.

Bradford worked 45 years on the Kentucky circuit and handled such top performers as 2002 Belmont Stakes (gr. I) Sarava, plus other grade I winners Gorella and Harlan's Holiday  . Bradford also was in demand on the United States Equestrian Federation circuit.

Bradford is survived by his wife, Sissy; their 9-year-old daughter, Cora; and a son and two daughters from a previous marriage. A memorial fund has been established to provide education assistance for Cora. The Benefit of Cora Bradford, PNC Bank, 8810 Highway 42, Florence, Ky., 41042.
