Michael Wrona and Frank Mirahmadi will take over next season for Tony Bentley, who has retired after 27 years in the announcer's booth at Fair Grounds in New Orleans. Bentley called his race at the track in 1974, and his 27 years is the longest of any announcer in track history.
Wrona, announcer at Lone Star Park, will begin Jan. 10, 2002. Mirahmadi will call the first part of the Fair Grounds meet, which begins Thanksgiving Day of this year.
