Mea Domina, a three-time graded stakes winner for breeder/owner Janis Whitham, has been retired from racing and is booked to Bernardini.
A 6-year-old daughter of Dance Brightly, Mea Domina scored her big wins in the 2005 Gamely Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IT) and the 2006 Palomar Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IIT) in course-record time of 1:39.67 for 1 1/16 miles at Del Mar. She also won the Las Palmas Handicap (gr. IIT) and the Harold C. Ramser Sr. Handicap on grass.
Mea Domina retired with seven wins from 16 races and earnings of $744,628 while trained by Ron McAnally. Her dam, the stakes-winning Wild Again mare Madame Pandit, raced for Whitham and was bred by her late husband, Frank.
