Trainer Gerald Bennett scored a rare double victory at Tampa Bay Downs in the featured seventh race Wednesday, an allowance test for older horses. Bennett’s entries in the race, Demagoguery and Anglers Reef, finished in a dead heat for the win.

Mary A. Mazur owns Demagoguery, who was ridden by Luis Antonio Gonzalez. Anglers Reef wore the colors of John Carlesimo and was piloted by leading jockey Daniel Centeno, who won four races on Tampa Bay's card.

They completed the seven-furlong distance of the $20,200 race in a time of 1:23 1/5 on a fast track.

Anglers Reef, the 9-5 favorite in the field of six, in fifth after a half-mile, rallied five wide on the turn under Centeno to finish on even terms with Demagoguery, who also bid while racing wide to gain a narrow advantage in the final sixteenth.
