Fillies Turn In Fast Works in Ocala

Stormy Kris, a daughter of Whitney Tower, turned in the fastest eighth-mile work Wednesday during the first under tack show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's April auction of 2-year-olds in training. Consigned by Rising Hill Farm, agent, Stormy Kris covered the distance in 10 :2/5 seconds. The filly was produced from the 11-year-old Kris S mare Surely Kris.
A Silver Ghost filly breezed the fastest quarter-mile, stopping the clock in :21 4/5. Consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent, she was produced from the 20-year-old Matsadoon mare Total Woman, a winner who finished second or third in three stakes at Bay Meadows. The filly is a half-sister to 1996 Fair Grounds Sales Derby winner Total Rage.
Lady's Fortune, a daughter of Fortunate Prospect, turned in the fastest three-furlong time, :35 1/5. Consigned by Farnsworth Farms, agent, the filly was produced from the 11-year-old Forsythe Boy mare Railroad Lady, a winner who finished second in a stakes at Suffolk Downs.
