(Edited press release)
Delta Air Lines will offer customers more than 5,900 additional seats between Louisville and its hubs in Atlanta, Cincinnati, and New York in celebration of the 133rd Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).
Between May 3 and 6, Delta will add flights and upgrade some regional jet aircrafts between Louisville, Atlanta, Cincinnati to 142-seat MD-88 and 150-seat Boeing 737-800 aircrafts, while adding daily regional jet service from New York’s LaGuardia and Kennedy airports--just in time for the Run for the Roses.
"The first jewel in the Triple Crown, the Kentucky Derby, is a true American tradition, and we are excited to offer our customers convenient service to Louisville so they may enjoy all of the festivities and grand traditions that surround ‘the greatest two minutes in sports,’" said Bob Cortelyou, Delta's vice president of network planning.
