Street Cry, Godolphin's main hope for the May 5 Kentucky Derby (gr. I), worked five furlongs in 1:02 2/5 Wednesday morning at Churchill Downs.

Trained by Saeed bin Suroor, Street Cry won the UAE Guineas in his 2001 debut before finishing a nose back of stablemate Express Tour in the UAE Derby in Dubai on March 24. The pair shipped to Churchill Downs from their winter stable in Dubai two weeks ago.

Last year while under the care of trainer Eoin Harty, Street Cry finished second in both the Del Mar Futurity (gr. II) and Norfolk Stakes (gr.II) before running third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr.I).

Bred in Ireland, Street Cry is by Machiavellian, out of the Troy mare Helen Street.

Also on the Churchill worktab was Caressing, last year's champion 2-year-old filly and winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I). The daughter of Honor and Glory worked five furlongs in a bullet 1:00 2/5, the fastest of 23 at the distance.
