Penn National, Mountaineer Park Cancel Live Racing

Citing inclement weather, Mountaineer Park in Chester, West Virginia cancelled live racing for Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 5-6.

Due to an arctic cold wave that has led to high temperatures in the teens and wind-chill factors below zero, Penn National Race Course cancelled its live race card for Tuesday night, Feb. 6.

“This is the prudent decision as we consider the safety of our riders and horses, “stated Rob Marella, Penn National’s director of racing operations.

Both tracks remained open for simulcasting.
