Sam Houston Race Park in Houston, Texas will offer a unique challenge to on-track handicappers for the May 5 Kentucky Derby (gr. I) -- select the correct order of finish of all the runners and win $1 million.

The promotion will be offered to all patrons, 21 years of age and older, on Derby Day as part of their simulcast program that includes the 127th Run for the Roses. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. CDT with a deadline of 4:30 p.m., or about a half-hour before the scheduled running of the race.

"We wanted to create an added incentive to bring fans out to Sam Houston Race Park, and couldn't think of anything more compelling than a chance to win $1 million," said Kerry Graves, director of marketing.

If there is no winner of the challenge, the contestant with the most correct horses in their exact order of finish will be awarded $1,000. Contest rules are available on the track's web site: www.shrp.com.
