First Foal for Value Plus

 The first foal for stakes winner  Value Pluswas born Jan. 17 at Carrie and Craig Brogden’s Machmer Hall near Paris, Ky. The bay colt, owned by Chip Montgomery, is out of Dafnah, a half-sister to stakes winner Karis Makaw and grade III-placed Irtahal.

“The colt is big, leggy and correct, with a very nice shoulder,” said Craig Brogden, adding that Dafnah would be bred back to Value Plus in 2007.

A son of Unbridled’s Song who won the Artax Handicap in track record time of 1:28.42, Value Plus stands at Stonewall Stallions near Versailles, Ky., for a $12,500 fee for 2007.
