Maggie Slew Tops Among Indiana-Bred Earners

Indiana Horse Racing Commission and the Indiana Thoroughbred Breed Development Advisory Committee announced the award-winning Indiana-bred earners for 2006. Maggie Slew, bred and raced by Swifty Farms, was named Horse of the Year and top 3-year-old filly. Trophies to the winning connections will be given in the spring.

Award recipients are:
2 year-old colt/gelding: B.B. Mancini. Breeder John O'Meara, owner Equi.race Management Service

2-year-old filly: Amature's Prize. Breeders Michael and Penny Lauer, owners  Jim and Scott Farrar and Penny Lauer

3 year-old colt/gelding: Im More Than Flash. Breeder Nikki Luce, owners Nikki Luce and  Janice Jordan

3 year-old filly: Maggie Slew. Breeder and owner Swifty Farms

Older horse/gelding: Edgerrin. Breeder James R. Elliott, owners Merrill Scherer and Dan Lynch

Older mare: Lady Blue Sky. Breeder Heidi Crane, owners Don Roberson and Windy Barco

Horse of the Year: Maggie Slew. Breeder and owner Swifty Farms

Owner of the Year: My Stables

Breeder of the Year: South River Ranch

Stallion of the Year: Crown Ambassador. Owner Swifty Farms.
