From Churchill Downs barn notes, Monday April 16:
Godolphin Racing's Express Tour, winner of the UAE Derby, is shaking off the effects of a foot bruise that has hampered his training in recent days at Churchill Downs. Godolphin assistant trainer Eric Coatrieux said the colt was "off for a couple of days" after he bruised his left front foot in training. Coatrieux expects the colt to return to the track on Tuesday.
"He looks very good today," he said. "We're in good shape."
Coatrieux said Godolphin's other Kentucky Derby hopeful, Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) third-place finisher and UAE 2000 Guineas winner Street Cry, has done very well since the two horses arrived at Churchill Downs last week. Coatrieux said he's not sure when the two Godolphin horses will work over the track.
