Jump Start's Fee Jumps to $20,000

Jump Start  , who ranked eighth on the 2006 first-crop sires list by progeny earnings, has had his fee upped to $20,000 for 2007, double the amount previously set in the fall of 2006.

Eight-year-old Jump Start, who stands at the Young family's Overbrook Farm near Lexington, sired the earners of $710,712 last year and had 21 juvenile winners. He started off this year in strong fashion. A daughter, Jump On In, won the Jan. 15 Santa Ynez Stakes (gr. II) at Santa Anita, and a son, Sir Whimsey, placed in the Count Fleet Stakes at Aqueduct. For his career, Jump Start is represented by seven runners that have won or placed in stakes.

As a racehorse, Jump Start (A.P. Indy--Steady Cat, by Storm Cat) won the Saratoga Special Stakes (gr. II) and ran second in the Champagne Stakes (gr. I).
