Frank Kirby has been elected president of the Illinois Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association.
Kirby replaces Joe Kasperski, who had held the office for nine years. Also elected for the board positions of trainer representatives were Christine Janks, Mickey Goldfine, and Chris Block. Owner representatives elected were Dr. Bruce Little and Robert Sedlacek.
With the exception of Block, all the aforementioned individuals were newly elected to the board. The new board, which took office Dec. 15, will serve for three years and is already taking steps to further investigate the finances of the organization.
A special three-member financial committee headed by Janks will be reviewing and auditing past statements and financials of the ITHA.
