Steve Sexton, executive vice president and general manager at Lone Star Park, will take over as executive vice president of Arlington Park, effective May 7. Sexton will oversee day-to-day business functions at the Illinois track, including finance, human resources, sales, marketing, and community relations.
The announcement was made Monday by Churchill Downs Inc., which purchased Arlington last year.
Sexton, who will report to Arlington chief executive officer Scott Mordell, joined Lone Star in 1994. Before that, he was general manager at Thistledown in Ohio, and assistant general manager and director of marketing at Golden Gate Fields in Northern California.
