Frank Stronach has retired grade I winners Spun Sugar and Amorama to his Adena Springs broodmare band near Versailles, Ky. Breeding plans are undecided.

Five-year-old Spun Sugar, bred in Kentucky by Adena Springs, won the 2006 Apple Blossom Handicap (gr. I) over Happy Ticket at Oaklawn Park and also captured that year's Go for Wand Handicap (gr. I) at Saratoga. As a 3-year-old in 2005, she took the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes (gr. II) and placed in the Coaching Club American Oaks (gr. I) and the Alabama (gr. I) and Mother Goose (gr. I) Stakes.

A daughter of Awesome Again  , Spun Sugar retired with six wins from 13 races and earnings of $929,171. She is out of the stakes-winning Irish Open mare Irish Cherry, who is a full sister to stakes-winning stakes producer Taft Lil Queen.

Amorama, a 6-year-old daughter of Sri Pekan, closed out her career with a triumph in the My Charmer Handicap (gr. IIIT) at Calder Race Course in December.

Stronach bought Amorama for $1.05 million at the 2005 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November mixed sale from Narvick International, agent.

Amorama was a two-time grade I winner for Marsha Naify and Woodside Farms prior to the sale. She won the 2004 Del Mar Oaks (gr. IT) over Ticker Tape and the following year's John C. Mabee Handicap (gr. IT) over Island Fashion and Intercontinental.

Bred in France by Jean Etienne Dubois, Amorama retired with five wins from 28 races and earnings of $794,353. She placed in eight U.S. stakes, five of which were graded, and won twice in France prior to her importation.

Amorama is out of the Alzao mare Tanzania, whose dam is a full sister to English, French, and Irish champion Triptych. Her third dam is international champion Trillion.
