Jim Linscott, longtime track photographer at Hoosier Park, died Dec. 30 at his home in Chesterfield, Ind. He was 54.
Linscott first came into the horse racing scene by serving as the track photographer for several southern Ohio county fairs. Linscott, assisted by his sister, Inez , soon expanded to include county fair circuits in Pennsylvania, Indiana, West Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and Kentucky , and later incorporated photo finish duties into his business.
Linscott accepted the track photographer’s position at Hoosier Park in 1996. Prior to his arrival, he served in similar positions at Thistledown, Northfield Park, and Lebanon Raceway.
His survivors include his sister and four daughters.
