Dancing Edie, winner of the 2006 John C. Mabee Handicap (gr. IT), is being given a break from racing and is unlikely to run until the 2007 Hollywood Park meeting, according to trainer Craig Dollase.

"She's currently receiving some well-deserved R&R at Dr. Don Shields' Winner's Circle Ranch (in Bradbury, Calif.)," Dollase said at Santa Anita Tuesday. "She's doing fine, but we probably won't run her during the Santa Anita meeting."

The 4-year-old daughter of Moscow Ballet -- Duchess of Ack, by Slewpy, scored a front-running nose victory over fellow California-bred Moscow Burning in the July 22 Mabee at Del Mar. She had earlier finished second in the Gamely Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. IT) at Hollywood. Following the Mabee, Dancing Edie ran second to Wait a While in the Yellow Ribbon Stakes (gr. IT) at Oak Tree prior to an eighth behind Ouija Board in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (gr. IT).

Steve and Andrea Warner bred Dancing Edie in partnership with Donald Reiker, and the Warners own her in partnership with J. Paul Reddam and Julian Basin.
