Jack Saip, a trainer on the Southern California circuit for the past two decades, died Dec. 14 of lung cancer at his home near Playa del Rey, Calif. He was 62.
"He had his fingers in many pies, but the love of his life was horse racing," said his widow, Diana, who assisted him in the stable.
Saip became involved in racing in 1984 and took out his trainer's license in 1986.
