Audrey Haisfield's Stonewall Farm has announced an agreement to purchase multiple stakes winner Da Stoops and will stand the 3-year-old son of Distorted Humor
at Becky Thomas' Sequel Stallions near Ocala, Fla. Da Stoops will make his final start in the Dec. 26 Malibu Stakes (gr. I) opening day at Santa Anita.
Da Stoops has won or placed in 14 of 15 races, 10 of which are stakes. He recorded triple digit Beyer Speed Figures in two consecutive starts at Santa Anita. He achieved a 106 in winning the California Breeders' Champion Stakes at seven furlongs by 8 3/4 lengths in 1:21.63 at 2 and a 110 in capturing the Sunshine Millions Dash Stakes at six furlongs by 7 1/2 lengths in 1:08.94 at 3.
"Da Stoops has the speed, the conformation, and the pedigree, for me the three key ingredients that make a stallion," said trainer Bob Baffert. "But his best attribute is his athleticism. He's got all the right parts and uses them very well."
Bred in California by Malibu Valley Farms, Da Stoops has earned $625,906 for Watson and Weitman Performances. He also has won the Cal National Snow Chief Stakes and California Cup Sprint Handicap and his six stakes-placings include efforts in the Dwyer Stakes (gr. II) and Hollywood Prevue Stakes (gr. III).
Da Stoops, who is out of the Kingdom of Spain mare Glamorous Lady, has grade II winner Humorous Lady (by Distorted Humor) in his female family. A fee will be announced later.
