Fasig-Tipton's sale pavilion in Lexington, Ky., could get a major facelift in 2007. A final decision is expected soon after the first of the year.
"It's highly likely" the project will be approved, said Boyd Browning, Fasig-Tipton's executive vice president and chief operating officer on Dec. 15.
Plans include replacing the seating, wall covering, and flooring. The upstairs bar and food service area would be remodeled.
"It's old and outdated," said Browning of the pavilion. "This is a competitive business, and you have to try and improve your facilities."
Improvements at Fasig-Tipton's Newtown Paddocks sale complex in recent years have included a renovation of the pavilion's back walking ring, the installation of new bid board in the pavilion, and new landscaping.
