Hall of Fame jockey Russell Baze, the leading rider in Thoroughbred racing history, won with five consecutive mounts Sunday at Bay Meadows.

Baze swept races four through seven with My Friend Bart ($3.80), Another Kris ($4.60), L. A. Lass ($5), and Bid of Genius ($5.20).

After sitting out the eighth race, Baze guided Iza Big Star ($5.40) to a last-to-first victory in the ninth race.

Baze had his winning streak snapped in the 10th race when he finished third aboard Gaucho Wish.

The five-victory afternoon pushed Baze's career win total to 9,548.

The 48-year-old rider passed Laffit Pincay Jr. to become racing's all-time victory leader on Dec. 1.
