Travis Dunkelberger, who has won seven races on a card twice in his riding career, captured five wins Thursday at Pimlico, including four of the final five races.

Fans were onto Dunkelberger, as the highest price among the five winners was the $6.60 returned to the backers of Flo's Wish in the ninth race. Dunkelberger's other victories came aboard Hope's Dancer in the second, Queens Village in the fifth, Hemisphere Dancer in the seventh, and Genesee Genius in the eighth.

"You try to ride race by race because if you start thinking about winning two and then three to get to five you tend to move early and mess it up," said the rider.

Three of the winners came on horses trained by Dale Capuano. The five-spot elevated Dunkelberger to the top of the Pimlico jockey standings with 20 wins during the spring meet. Ramon Dominguez is next with 17, with Mark Johnston in third with 15.
