Mass Media, Gibson County to Cloverleaf
Grade I winner Mass Media and promising first-crop sire Gibson County will stand in 2007 at John Sykes' Cloverleaf Farms II near Reddick, Fla.A 5-year-old son of Touch Gold , Mass Media won his first two races as a 2-year-old by a combined 33 1/4 lengths at Louisiana Downs. Over the next three years, he raced against some of nation's top sprinters and milers.As a 3-year-old, Mass Media registered a 115 Beyer Speed Figure in winning the seven-furlong Sport Page Handicap (gr. III) over Lion Tamer in 1:21.10 at Aqueduct. The following year, he captured the seven-furlong Forego Stakes (gr. I) over Battle Won and Silver Wagon at Saratoga.Mass Media, who also won the Fly So Free Stakes at Belmont Park at 3, placed in the Metropolitan (gr. I), Hill 'n' Dale Cigar Mile (gr. He currently is represented by six winners from 14 foals from his initial crop, including stakes winner Genuine Talent.Gibson County, who is out of the Winrightt mare Miss Gibson County, formerly stood at J.B. and Jocelyn McKathan's McKathan Farm near Reddick Fla. His $3,500 fee is $1,000 more than what he stood for 2006.
