Old Forester to T.C. Westmeath in Canada

Old Forester, a course-record setter at Gulfstream Park and a graded stakes winner, will stand in 2007 at John Carey's T.C. Westmeath Stud near Shelburne, Ontario, Canada. His fee will be $5,000 (Canadian funds).
A $310,000 Keeneland September yearling, Old Forester won this year's Cliff Hanger Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Meadowlands and set a course record in the 2005 Canadian Turf Handicap at Gulfstream. Old Forester also won the Santa Claus Stakes on grass and placed in four stakes, including the Firecracker Breeders' Cup (gr. IIT) and Miami Mile Breeders' Cup (gr. IIIT) Handicaps.
A 5-year-old son of
Forestry , Old Forester retired with six wins and 11 runner-up efforts and earned $462,632.
He is out of the multiple stakes-winning Irish River mare Halo River.
Dermot Carty International Bloodstock Agency brokered the deal for the purchase of Old Forester from Live Oak Plantation.
