Coin Silver, a grade II-winning son of Anees, has been retired from racing.

Coin Silver scored his big win in last year's Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland two races after breaking his maiden at 1 1/8 miles at Gulfstream Park. He ran in that year's Kentucky Derby (gr. I), but finished unplaced.

Bred in Kentucky by Biggs Farm, Coin Silver retired with two wins and two placings from eight races and earnings of $233,430 for John Fort's Peachtree Stable. Coin Silver is a half-brother to stakes winner Beyond Brilliant and is out of the winning Conquistador Cielo mare Beyond a Doubt, who is a half-sister to stakes-winning, stakes producer Pamela Kay.

A decision has not been reached as to where Coin Silver will enter stud.
